 Gray Catbird.
It’s high season for wild birds here at the 44th parallel. Savannah Sparrows with grasshoppers in their beaks. Tree Swallows bringing mouthfuls of flies back to the box. Eastern Towhees flitting furtively in the bushes, making the slight, weird sounds they make around fledglings.
 Song Sparrow.
Nesters. Nesters everywhere.

 Eagle and crow.
Ascending the hill this morning, angling for a photo of a Savannah Sparrow, I hear a commotion of crows coming from over the rise. This always gets my attention, and I turned toward the cacophony. Sure enough, a Bald Eagle came flapping over the summit, heading out toward Chickawaukie Lake, accompanied by a crow.
