Nesters

Gray Catbird, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 26 June 2017.

Gray Catbird.

It’s high season for wild birds here at the 44th parallel. Savannah Sparrows with grasshoppers in their beaks. Tree Swallows bringing mouthfuls of flies back to the box. Eastern Towhees flitting furtively in the bushes, making the slight, weird sounds they make around fledglings.

Song Sparrow, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 26 June 2017.

Song Sparrow.

Nesters. Nesters everywhere.

Bird Report is a (sometimes intermittent) record of the birds I encounter while hiking, see while driving, or spy outside my window. —Brian Willson
