Jack and I had company on our morning hike today. A friend and a friend of a friend (now also a friend) liked the idea of looking around for birds at Beech Hill. And it was a good day for it—more than 30 species, including an obliging Scarlet Tanager that flew over the barren hillside in plain view.
Several birds popped up for photos—not least striking a handsome male American Redstart.
Birds, humans, and dogs: good company indeed.
