Fogwater

Sunday, June 5th, 2016
Ovenbird, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine 05 June 2016.

Ovenbird.

A foggy day is a luscious day.
They don’t come around very often.
They tend to be cool, and moody, and dim—
But far from depressing, or spooky, or grim.
The sounds in the wood
Seem impossibly near
And fogwater drips from the trees.

Bird Report is a (sometimes intermittent) record of the birds I encounter while hiking, see while driving, or spy outside my window. —Brian Willson
