Thrushes

Monday, May 9th, 2022

Had no Hermit Thrushes on my hike with dog yesterday, but I did today. And like many (most?) thrushes will do, this bird was hopping up the trail in front of us, pausing to glean tiny bits of food from the ground or grass.

Robins are here, too, of course (mostly singing in the trees at the summit), but no Veeries yet, or Wood Thrushes. Might even get a Swainson’s Thrush at some point. And at the summit are their smaller cousin, bluebirds. But I do look forward to their arrival here each spring, these shy, unassuming, but super-talented songsters in the trees.
