 Song Sparrow.
On a cool morning in fall,
migratory birds move through the trees
silently for the most part,
with but a few chips and tweets and titters.
It’s odd when one bursts into song.
At this time of year, it seems wrong.

 Black-and-white Warbler.
Sun and clouds and wind and chill
Jack and I walked up the hill
In the eastern woodland shade
Quiet warblers in the shade
