Beautiful early summer morning. I had twenty-one birds on my list by the time I turned up onto the main trail—including a singing Rose-breasted Grosbeak whose voice did tricks I’d never heard before.
Nestling phoebes, nestling swallows, nestlings everywhere. Fledglings, too.
Even surprised an American Toad down toward the parking lot.
Ah, summer in Maine.
