Long day at my desk—well, technically, the kitchen table. Sunny to begin with but with quite a few clouds moving over by late in the day. Noticeably cooler than yesterday. Nippy, even. I wore a hooded sweatshirt indoors.
Also on the Beech Hill trail late in the day. Not many others up there—three others, to be specific. And one dog. And a dozen bird species, including a flock of skittish robins, a vocal golden-crowned kinglet, some remnant yellow-rumps, couple of woodpeckers, and a northern harrier flying off toward the peach-colored evening horizon.
Crows, too, one of which I got a blurry shot of against the October-y sunset sky.
Tonight I broke down and turn on the heat for the first time since spring.
