Dark-eyed Junco, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 01 November 2018.

Dark-eyed Junco.

Common Grackle, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 01 November 2018.

Common Grackle.

Supposed to rain later, but this morning’s hike was a warm one (upper-40s to low-50s (F)), and there were plenty of birds about. Juncos were common, but robins were commoner, and I caught sight of crows chasing a red-tail. Most interesting was a little flock of migrating grackles that stopped off briefly in the spruce grove.

Rain did come later. All is good.
