Contrails

Beech Nut, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 25 November 2015.

Beech Nut.

Chilly this morning—20s (F) when I first looked—and again painfully clear. Birds all over the place in my new backyard, thanks a stream with running water and a feeder next door.

A few interesting birds at Beech Hill, as well, when Jack and I visited in afternoon, including my first American Tree Sparrow of the season. (A little flock of ’em, actually.) And a Pileated Woodpecker—pretty sure the same one I got a video of the other day—calling interminably from the little wooded patch by the road. No bird photos, though.

Contrails all over the sky today.

Beech Hill List
Beginning at 2 p.m., I hiked the open trail.
