I Love Days Like This

Tuesday, February 20th, 2018
Yellow-rumped Warbler, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 20 February 2018.

Yellow-rumped Warbler.

Rain, drizzle, fog, thaw. Temps above freezing all day. On this morning’s hike I encountered out a diverse bunch of birds—including a little flock of yellow-rumps and a lone American Tree Sparrow. [As I was about to photograph the sparrow, a loose dog, far from his master, trotted up to greet me and Jack, so I missed it.]

Golden-crowned Kinglet.

It took about a hundred photos, but I got a half-way decent shot of a Golden-crowned Kinglet this morning. Also saw a little flock of American Tree Sparrows.

Now just waiting on the Northern Shrike and Snowy Owl.
