House Finch, Rockport, Maine, 04 November 2018.

House Finch.

Hiked an hour earlier this morning, by the clock. Bright daylight for a change. Plus, before the hike, there were robins all over the yard. Also had turkeys and house finches there.

Red-tailed Hawk and Common Raven, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 04 November 2018.

The hill was active also, with the usual suspects—plus a hawk and raven hanging around together.

A break in the rain. Jack and I took a quick hike up the hill. Rainier than yesterday. Way windier, too. Still a bunch of robins and yellow-rumps and other birds.

Got home kind of wet, though.

Showery Morning

Yellow-rumped Warbler, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 02 November 2018.

Yellow-rumped Warbler, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 02 November 2018.

I tried to time this morning’s hike to miss any big rain. It worked, more or less. Jack and I mostly walked through mist and drippy trees, with only a couple of stretches of steady light rain. Better still, we ran into more birds than I expected—including a little flight of kinglets and a solitary Savannah Sparrow. Oh, yeah, and yell0w-rumps are still around.

Rained more steadily later. And more rain coming tomorrow.
