The good news? A lovely hike with Captain Jack this morning, including a few nice bird sightings (solo swallow, young tanager, several hummers) but few photo opportunities. Back home, though, I got a pic of the neighborhood quail holding forth from his pulpit (the chalinlink fence post).
The bad news? Big wildfire broke out today in Parleys Canyon, not far from here. Thousands of acres burned, thousands of homes evacuated—but the fire crews were out quickly, and in full force. Fingers crossed.
