Mostly Thrushes and Sparrows

Sunday, October 28th, 2018

Hermit Thrush, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 27 October 2018.

Hermit Thrush.

Rain in the forecast this overcast and chilly and windy morning. Plenty of little birds moving about, sucking up food in anticipation of the rain—which, somehow, they know is coming. Many robins and juncos and white-throats all over the yard at home, a pair of Hermit Thrushes at Beech Hill.

Blue-headed VIreo, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 27 October 2018.

Blue-headed Vireo.

Also yellow-rumps, other familiar birds—and one random Blue-headed Vireo, which was a nice surprise.

Sure enough, big wind and hard rain came later in the day.
