Juncos Everywhere

Monday, April 3rd, 2017
Roadside junco, Beech Hill preserve, Rockport, Maine, 03 April 2017.

Roadside junco.

Took an early spin over to Beech Hill, and seas of juncos parted. Seas. Big clouds of ’em moved in overnight, ’cause they were everywhere, with their high, faint chittering and chattering.

American Robin.

Also a day of of first-of-year birds: sparrow, grackle, and thrush.

A possibility of more snow tomorrow—though more likely just rain here at the coast—yet the birds are zipping northward during the lulls, e.g., these last two days of thaw.

(Just missed a photo of that early Hermit Thrush. Grr.)
