As I worked hard at my desk today, my thoughts were to the sunny outside, where eventually I’d be tracking down birds. By the time Jack and I headed out, however, clouds had moved over and it was sprinkling a bit. Chilly, too. But never mind—turns out you can have fun in the drizzle, as well.
At first it was a little unfun, as I kept missing good shots of birds—like the raven in flight, or the bright little male ’rump that lit right at the trail-edge. But eventually, quiet little birds began to appear everywhere. And I’ll be damned if one of the dozens of photos I took of an active little creeper ended up not too awful bad.
Eighteen species was nice. More tomorrow, is my hope.
Frogs singing like crazy again today.
