Juncos

Sunday, October 31st, 2021

This morning’s was a sweet hike with my sweet ol’ dog in comfortable conditions and with a good contingent of birds about. The most abundant species? Dark-eyed Junco.

They show up during migration, both ways. They travel in groups—from a few to huge flocks. I know their voices and habits pretty well by now. Plus, one member of the species was the only bird that posed for a photo today.

I ?? juncos.

Bird Report is a (sometimes intermittent) record of the birds I encounter while hiking, see while driving, or spy outside my window. —Brian Willson
