Youngsters

Saturday, July 18th, 2020
California Quail (teenager), East Millcreek, Salt Lake City, Utah, 18 July 2020.
California Quail (teenager).

Another day like the last few—mostly cloudless, coolish early, hot late. A bit of haze rising up from the basin. Young birds abound, but a general quietude otherwise.

Among the youngsters: towhees. buntings, vireos—and a single half-grown quail crossing my driveway in late afternoon.

Bird Report is a (sometimes intermittent) record of the birds I encounter while hiking, see while driving, or spy outside my window. —Brian Willson
