Starting to Move

Friday, August 17th, 2018
Yellow-rumped Warbler, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 17 August 2018.

Yellow-rumped Warbler.

This was a cool, quiet, clear morning. Birds were moving around on the hill in a manner that suggested they were gearing up for migration. Red-breasted Nuthatches, first phoebes in a while, Golden-crowned Kinglet—and a little gang of Yellow-rumped Warblers in the summit spruce grove.

Bird Report is a (sometimes intermittent) record of the birds I encounter while hiking, see while driving, or spy outside my window. —Brian Willson
