At the summit of Beech Hill this muggy, drizzly morning, I encountered an entertaining collection of birds catching flies. They flitted in the spruces: Cedar Waxwing, Eastern Phoebe, Yellow-rumped Warbler, Least Flycatcher. And not far away, I heard the voice of a Great Crested Flycatcher.)
Where would we be without insects. (Doomed, that’s where.)
