Yellow things

Common yellowthroat, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 09 July 2013.

Common yellowthroat.

More rain overnight. Overcast, cool, foggy day. Busy time at the office. Late hike with Jack.

Black-eyed susan, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 09 July 2013.

Black-eyed susan.

Lots of singing birds, several scolding bird parents, a few noisy fledglings, a solitary mallard flapping swiftly—and rather incongruously—close to the summit fields of Beech Hill.

Plenty of wood lilies dot the fields now, and blueberries continue to ripen (much to Jack’s delight). Took photos of a yellowthroat and a black-eyed susan. Yellow things.

Although we stuck to the open trail today, I still ended up with twenty-six birds.
