Harrier

Wednesday, October 7th, 2020
Northern Harrier, East Millcreek, Salt Lake City, Utah, 07 October 2020.
Northern Harrier (headed south).

Another quiet morning—although the muffled traffic noise suggested a northeast breeze. A good number of individual birds moving through, but not a whole bunch of species.

Still, I had a nice surprise when, as on a mission, a solitary Northern Harrier flew determinedly overhead, southbound. Only the third harrier I’ve seen here, I believe.

Had lots of finches and robins, along with a bunch of other usual suspects. No Mountain Chickadees, though.

Bird Report is a (sometimes intermittent) record of the birds I encounter while hiking, see while driving, or spy outside my window. —Brian Willson
