It was supposed to rain all day, so when I saw an early break in the clouds, I grabbed Jack and we high-tailed it to the hill. Intermittent fog and drizzle, but it didn’t begin raining steadily until we were nearly finished hiking. Saw a few very soggy birds.
Then it stopped raining and got pretty dry. Huh. So on our post office trip, we stopped down at the harbor—where I happened upon two first-of-year species: Savannah Sparrow and Osprey. A pair, building a stick nest.
Right on time.
