What a cool surprise this foggy morning. I knew rain was coming, but I didn’t anticipate the fog on the hill. Figured that’d put a damper on the bird situation—but no.
Soon enough, along the trail, I heard the slight sounds of songbirds. One species, another, another. Another. A drumming woodpecker. Two species of nuthatches. Corvids. Warblers. Quite a nice little collection—including a surprise Great Crested Flycatcher, materialized from the cloud.
An exciting ten minutes or so, for sure.
