Unexpected peregrine

Tuesday, June 30th, 2015
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 30 June 2015.

Yellow-bellied Sapsucker.

Returning from a late-afternoon event in Camden, I heard  the high cry of a Peregrine Falcon and looked up at the Knox Mill smokestack to see a sudden fluff of pigeon feathers floating away from some construction scaffolding. Listened to a few more cries, watched a few more clouds of feathers. Took a photo of the rising moon.
