Long-tailed Duck (male, non-breeding plumage).

Hiked the hill in morning. Warmer, slight breeze, still a lot of snow cover. Eight species, no great photos.

This breezy, warmish afternoon dog and I took to the breakwater. A few extra species out there—including a handsome male Long-tailed Duck.

Bohemian Waxwing.

Nippy, breezy, cloudless, lovely, fine, beautiful morning. Seven species on the hill (including a tiny flock of Bohemian waxwings). And a bunch of birds in the back yard, too—among them bluebirds and a pair of White-throated Sparrows.

I love this day.

Two turkeys, Rockport, Maine, 07 March, 2019.
Two turkeys.

One degree (F) when I first checked. Got up to about 10 by the time we hiked, Jack and me. Stout winds from the northwest made it a nippy ol’ hike. Got a woodpecker to perch for me, at least.

Later, back home, the neighborhood turkeys were active.

2. Tufted Titmouse** (v)
3. Downy Woodpecker
4. Black-capped Chickadee**
