Another nippy morning with plenty of yellow-rumps moving through. But not just ’rumps—also flying south were a bunch of robins and a Cassin’s Vireo. Not much to show in the way of photo, though, because of the shade vs sun situation.
At this time of year, when sunrise has moved south far enough to be lined up with a tall ridge hill, the early part of my hike with dog occurs in a deep blue shade. More shade every day, it seems—and not only because we’re speeding toward an equinox.
My return trip with dog involves a good sun-soaking (at least on a cloudless morning like this one), and occasionally a bird will pop up and pose.
Today, the only bird that posed was a goldfinch, in the garden, at home.
