Bald Eagle (juvenile), Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 03 September 2018.

Bald Eagle (juvenile).

Seasonal temps and humid this morning. Bit of a breeze. Bit of an interesting collection of birds, too—including a hovering hummingbird (no photo, alas), a juvenile eagle (or two), and a bad-singing Nashville warbler.

Turkeys crossing the road, Rockport, Maine, 03 September 2018.

Turkeys crossing the road.

On the way home from the hill, I had to stop to let some turkeys cross the road. Word has it, of course, that Ben Franklin preferred the Wild Turkey as our national bird.

Bird Report is a (sometimes intermittent) record of the birds I encounter while hiking, see while driving, or spy outside my window. —Brian Willson
