Everywhere Phoebes

Wednesday, June 14th, 2017
Eastern Phoebe, Rockport, Maine, 14 June 2017.

Eastern Phoebe.

Everywhere I go lately I see phoebes. Or hear them. Or watch them flit from perch to perch. Or admire how their tails flick up and down. Or look at their layered nests on ledges or porch lights, protected from the rain. Or peer up at the beaks of nestlings ready to fly.

The world is improved by the presence of phoebes.

Bird Report is a (sometimes intermittent) record of the birds I encounter while hiking, see while driving, or spy outside my window. —Brian Willson
