Had a busy Monday. Very cool this morning—50s (F), tops—and I wore jeans and sneaks and socks for a change. VEry busy day. Warmed up at midday, though, so at lunch I changed into the comfort of shorts and sandals.
Which proved not very comfortable at 5:30 p.m., when dog and I found ourselves in the shady parking lot Beech Hill Preserve. Damn, it was chilly.
But up we hiked. Few birds about—few conspicuous ones anyway—though I can tell migration is night. Got a photo of a male goldfinch singing from a high perch and didn’t even notice the female perched in the leaves below it until I’d processed the photo and looked at it for quite a while.
Really good camo.
