Warbler and kestrel

Thursday, April 17th, 2014
American Kestrel, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 17 April 2014.

The main thing I can say about this morning’s early Beech Hill hike with dog is that it was cold. Like, 20s (F) cold. However, that made the footing easier: tall columns of frost poked through where the mud has been and provided more-or-less stable footing.

A couple other things I might say would be: I saw my first Yellow-rumped Warbler of 2014—the last one I saw was at the very end of 2013—and got a good look at a Kestrel.

But even before we headed to the hill today, I took a photo of a singing timouse.
