Hawk and owl

Wednesday, April 10th, 2013
Birch, Beech Hill, Rockport, Maine, 10 April 2013.

Birch.

More rain today—not much, a little. Worked inside for most of it, got out late. Dog and I hiked Beech Hill, where I didn’t imagine seeing or hearing many birds. Again, I was wrong as rancor. I counted a dozen species up there—after 5:30 p.m. And that included a FOY (for me) red-bellied woodpecker. Also a glimpsed harrier and an overheard barred owl.

Wet tonight. Will be wet again tomorrow.
