During our hike the past couple days, I thought I heard the voice of a raven high above dog and me. Just one faint croak each day, and I scanned the blue but saw no sign of the bird.
Well, today, I just happened to look up and see one not very far above us, circling. I snapped a few photos and watched it rise, then sail away above the ridge to the northeast of us. Felt almost as if the bird just decided to show up as a solution to my puzzlement.
Ravens are, of course, rather magical that way.
