Dark-eyed Junco, East Millcreek, Salt Lake City, Utah, 30 December 2019.
Dark-eyed Junco.

Late-morning hike in flurries and chill. Many birds near the trailhead—in fact, my entire Grandeur Peak list occurred with in the first five or ten minutes of an hour-and-a-half hike.

Later, we came upon a number of browsing and/or napping deer. (Jack even spotted a doe, who spotted him.)

A gift of a day.

Bird Report is a (sometimes intermittent) record of the birds I encounter while hiking, see while driving, or spy outside my window. —Brian Willson
