Took a late hike after a Sunday of desk work. Not bad work, just too much sitting. And Beech Hill awaited.
As did some nice folks I met and chatted with a while—visitors, newlyweds. (I don’t socialize that much these days and tend to ramble a little much. Gotta work on that.) What a lovely cool August day it was up there surrounded by hills and islands.
Lots of waxwings, young secretive sparrows, a Yellow Warbler lurking in the trees along the trail. Got a picture of the warbler with its tongue out.
Short and sweet is our summer here on the 44th parallel.
