Mild Day

Woodhouse’s Scrub-jay, East Millcreek, Salt Lake City, Utah, 06 November 2019.
Woodhouse’s Scrub-jay.

Jack’s eye (and mood) seems a lot better, but I still can’t get used to hiking without having my dog along. Still, I hiked—and listed eight birds on the mountainside. Got no great photos, though.

It was a mild November day.

Dogless Still

Tuesday, November 5th, 2019
Canyon Wren, East Millcreek, Salt Lake City, Utah, 05 November 2019.
Canyon Wren.

Another dogless hike, which is getting old. But at least I engaged in a little chase around the gulch with a (the) Canyon Wren again. Plus, plenty of other species. (Nothing outlandish.)

Sunny, warm in the sun, chilly in evening.

Five days until Jack can accompany me again.

Sunny Days

Monday, November 4th, 2019
American Robin, East Millcreek, Salt Lake City, Utah, 04 November 2019.
American Robin.

Another fine morning. Sunny and a little warmer than yesterday. Still no dog, though. Will be another week before he’s cleared, poor guy. (And by “guy,” I’m talking about myself.)

Not many bird species up the mountainside this morning. Plenty good landscapes and long views, though.

Sunny days for the next week or so.
