 Song Sparrow.
On a cool morning in fall,
migratory birds move through the trees
silently for the most part,
with but a few chips and tweets and titters.
It’s odd when one bursts into song.
At this time of year, it seems wrong.

Overcast morning, nippy.
Rain in the forecast.
Few birds moving through the trees.
A lone hawk circling in the breeze

 Black-and-white Warbler.
Sun and clouds and wind and chill
