Light snow (and other mixed wintry precipitation) made this morning’s hike with Jack nice and interesting. We were the first up the switchback but saw tracks of other humans and deer and a squirrel and a dog on the rim trail. Also saw a little group of deer again (perhaps the same gang as yesterday).
Few birds—magpie and goldfinch, essentially.
But an exciting addition to my list was the fascinating repeated whistle call of a Townsend’s Solitaire down in the neighborhood this late afternoon.
