A Great Wind

Tuesday, October 16th, 2018
Yellow-rumped Warbler, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 16 October 2018.

Yellow-rumped Warbler.

The thermometer showed 39 degrees (F) when first I looked. The wind was whipping this sunny morning, the still-leafy trees wagging and whooshing and rushing and swaying. Hard to hear the subtle autumn voices of birds in all that racket—but I managed to ID a few.

Bird Report is a (sometimes intermittent) record of the birds I encounter while hiking, see while driving, or spy outside my window. —Brian Willson
