Except for a fleeting glimpse of sun once or twice, today was overcast. And by afternoon, the forecast cold front approached, darkening the skies and bring thunderheads and distant rumbling. Jack and I got up Beech Hill just in the nick of time. Felt some spatterings of rain. Heard several birds but saw few—including a Broad-winged Hawk and the first Yellow-rumped Warbler in a while.
The yellow-rumps will be heading south again soon.
