Quiet time of year

Saturday, July 18th, 2015
Scarlet Tanager fledgling, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 18 July 2015.

Scarlet Tanager fledgling.

Cool and overcast, with a brief period of hard rain and a following breeze. Took my dog up a hill, where I saw a few bird parents scrambling to feed their young ’uns. Not a lot of singing—other than towhees and yellowthroats. Of note a silent tanager mom and her barely audible fledging.
