Snow slush fog

Sunday, January 4th, 2015
Wintry pinnacle, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 04 January 2015.

Wintry pinnacle.

Heard the plows before I rose this morning. The snow had piled up, as forecast—and soon it began to rain lightly, and then the snow got slushy. Had breakfast, shoveled snow, then went with Jack to Beech Hill, where we were the first ones in the parking lot.

One other person had hiked before us, I could see by their footprints. Very foggy up there what with all the now-slushy snow evaporating into the damp air. Saw some roadside birds, heard the voices of several others, including the chip of a yellow-rump.

This afternoon, I worked at my desk downstairs. Gets dark in a hurry still.
