Yellow-rumps are everywhere. They were all over Monhegan last week, they were all over Beech Hill today. They come in waves in spring, too, but then nest up in Canada or somewhere, because I don’t see them again until fall. And then I see lots of ’em. A largish warbler with a distinctive chip note and a lemon-yellow rump.
(Note: I’m still gearing up after my week away but should be back to my usual word count soon.)
