Fairly often I find myself eye to eye with a bird. It might be a distant crow, or a woodpecker not far up a tree, or a nearby chickadee. This morning it was the latter.
It was a cool morning—a little above freezing, clear as all get-out, a not-to-bad north breeze. And more than just chickadees were out. The numbers and variety of the birds on today’s list suggest that spring is indeed about to descend on us.
That said, I refuse to change my clocks this weekend. (DST be damned!)
