Another morning much like the last few: cloudless, nippy, quiet. The highlight today was when I happened to catch sight of a solitary robin perched along on a scrub-oak twig. Only robin I’ve seen in a good while.
No Downy Woodpecker again today (that’s two straight days), so naturally I’m a little worried. But dog and I hiked the gulch trail today for the first time in a while, heard a goldfinch, and so topped yesterday’s species number.
Good hike today. (And afterward I got a lot done.)
