Mule deer buck.

Down in the mid-teens last night. Nippy in the shadow of the mountain this morning. But in that shadow, a handsome mule deer buck trotted along the street out from of my place, which was cool.

However, even cooler was the surprise appearance of a Spotted Towhee in the side yard. I heard its whine, which didn’t register, because I was making a video of a singing Song Sparrow—but then the towhee suddenly flitted over to within a foot of the sparrow.

Talk about cool.

The rest of the day was blue-sky sunny. Warmed up, encountered a bunch of bird species. A lovely, productive day.
