At the Harbor

Wednesday, January 30th, 2019
Herring Gull, Rockport Harbor, Rockport, Maine, 30 January 2019.
Herring Gull.

Some days in winter—days like today—you’ll find plenty of birds on the hill, but none will pose for photos. So you head to the harbor to find a photogenic duck or gull.

(After a night of snow, then rain, this morning was a slushy one, with temperatures in the 30s (F). No polar vortex like they’re experiencing in the middle of the continent—still, temperature will be dipping quite a bit over the next couple days.)
