White-Throat on a Cold Morning

Thursday, January 31st, 2019
White-throated Sparrow, Rockport, Maine, 31 January 2019.
White-throated Sparrow.

Zero degrees (F) first thing this morning. Warmed slowly as the sun rose. Before dog and I hit the nippy hill, I spied a White-throated Sparrow in the bank yard. Actually, I heard its distinctive Tseet! note before I saw it. Then it popped up and I took a photo.

Waterfowl at the harbor. Pigeons in their usual haunts. Sun all day, temps rose some. Slow warming the rest of the week, they say.
