This cool overcast morning was a fun one. Five first-of-year birds—including a surprise Prairie Warbler (which I heard singing first, then got a glimpse of), a bird that doesn’t get up this way very often. Also Great Crested Flycatcher, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, and more. Plus, I got my first glimpse of a catbird (after hearing their voices for a few days now.)
The excitement builds.
