Siskins

Pine Siskin, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 28 February 2017.

Pine Siskin.

I don’t encounter a lot of Pine Siskins. Which would explain how suddenly my ears perked up to the sound of them at Beech Hill this morning. Now, at least, I think I can ID them from their crazy voices.

(Also heard a first-of-year Red-winged Blackbird this morning.)
